San Diego Family Trip

For our Fall Break this year, we decided to go to San Diego and hit a few spots. Zach had heard about Legoland a while back and asked if we could go. Morgan was doing a school project on panda bears, so we added the zoo to our tour. And then we heard BYU was playing San Diego in football while we were down there, so Nathan bought tickets for that as soon as he heard! We told the kids they had to earn their own money for the Legoland tickets, so they worked hard all Summer and Fall for that, plus a friend of ours had buy one get one free tickets for it. October was "Kids get in Free" month at the zoo, so we scored there as well.

We started with a stop in Fresno to see Grant and Heather's new baby, Dylan.
Dylan Arrington Crum-isn't that a sophistaced name?!

We even managed to visit Nathan's Aunt Sally and family for dinner on the way down. We got to sit at the Pope's table at Buca de Beppo! We stayed in a nice hotel with adjoining rooms so everyone had a bed and Nathan and I had some peace and quiet.
The rides were so-so, but the statues and actual lego creations were amazing. They had whole cities replicated in legos. Truly amazing!Zach's pretty sure he wants to be a Lego-engineer when he grows up.

The San Deigo Zoo is definitely worth the trip. It has fantastic exhibits and you really get to see the animals up close. It's fun to see the kids reactions. We ran into the Cooks (Rick, Karen, Ashley, and Alex) at the zoo and enjoyed having them explore with us. We also met them at the football game.

Carter did NOT appreciate the cannons at the "flootball" game, but he will never forget going to that game. He was scared silly the entire time until he finally gave up and fell asleep. :) We had a pretty good time though and Nathan couldn't have been happier getting to sing the fight song and bleed white and blue again!
