Morgan's Taking the Stage!

So, I have some very exciting news! The company that put on the Jospeh play last Fall is doing Les Miserable this year in September. Morgan decided to try out, knowing that there were very few children's parts, but we figured it's good practice for her to sing in front of people and she decided she really liked being part of that play last year, so wanted another chance. Well, she got a call back, along with a dozen or so other girls and was told to learn Castle on a Cloud, of course. Well, after all the girls had sung a portion of the song, they sent everybody else home but Morgan and one other girl. Say WHAT?! They worked with both of them a little, had them sing the whole song, then told them that they would be casting one Cosette and one Young Eponine, who would be the understudy for Cosette, and said they'd send us a letter letting us know. HOLY COW! Serioulsy? I realize that Morgan has a cute little voice and has been in singing groups for the past 4 years now, and the Sacramento Children's Choir was wonderful for training her to sing properly, but I'm pretty sure a big reason is because she fits the personality and profile of a little Cosette. We were thrilled. Well, after waiting almost 2 weeks, we finally got the letter in the mail offering Morgan the part of the understudy role of Young Eponine! She's a little disappointed, after waiting so long, she had grand dreams of stardom in her little head, but I think this is a perfect place for her to start. Morgan will get to go to all the rehearsals and learn Cosette's part along side of her, in case she has to replace her, AND will get to be Cosette in 2 of the matinee performances. How cool is that?!

We're very proud of Morgan for being brave enough to try out and for realizing she has a talent and using it.
