With the kids being out of school for 2 weeks, and us not having any get-away plans, we've been trying to do a few day trips and activities. Our friends, the Robisons, invited us along to go to Casa de Fruta near Hollister this week and we had a really fun time. It's a Fruit Stand on sterroids, with some candy shops, restaurant and gift shops, playground, duck pond, train ride, carousel, lots of antique farm equipment, and a lot of room to run around and explore. The train and carousel were closed during the week, so we didn't get to ride that, but we did some "sludging for gold and precious stones", had a picnic, and played on the trains and playground for hours. I'm sure we'll make it a stop from now on when we're headed down that way.
